Planning and Policy Development
Strategic plans adopted:
2024–2044 Comprehensive Plan (Named “Best Plan, Small–Midsize City” by Futurewise)

Completed the Critical Areas Ordinance Update
Infrastructure Improvements
Design and construction of the Louis Thompson Tightline Project, including stormwater upgrades, a new sidewalk, and bike lane
Renovated Fire Station #82 to meet current code, add sleeping quarters, and improve ADA accessibility
Completed Inglewood Middle School athletic field improvements to synthetic turf and added other amenities
Finalized Big Rock Park – South Trail connection and partially opened the area to the public
Replaced the top pavement layer on a 1-mile-long section of East/West Beaver Lake Drive SE
Community Engagement
Restarted the City Newsletter to improve communication with residents
Completed a Citywide Community Survey to guide future decisions
Established the City’s first Senior Center Program at Beaver Lake Lodge
Adopted a Racial Equity Commitment and Vision to promote organizational equity and community well-being
Created a process allowing youth community members to serve on City boards and commissions
Formed the Sustainability Commission as an advisory body to the Council
Fiscal Sustainability
Appointed a Fiscal Sustainability Taskforce of community members to assess the City’s financial outlook and offer recommendations
